John Dee and the Enochian Material

Dee’s own works, the angelic records and their later adaptation.

6 texts in the archive

The Monas Hieroglyphica (1564) predates Dee’s angel conversations and belongs to his natural philosophy. The Enochian material comes from the sessions with Edward Kelley in the 1580s. Much of it stayed in manuscript until the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

The Golden Dawn and later occultists reworked it substantially, so those versions are labelled as influence rather than as Dee’s text.
