Turba Philosophorum

The Turba Philosophorum, or "Assembly of the Philosophers," is one of the earliest surviving Latin alchemical texts and a major witness to medieval alchemical thought. Presented as a dialogue among ancient sages, it contains cryptic teachings, disputations, and practical hints on metals and transformation, reflecting the tradition’s blend of theory, authority, and symbolism.

“Various” is not a single identifiable author but a generic attribution indicating multiple contributors or an unspecified source. It cannot be treated as a historical writer in its own right.
