Magick in Theory and Practice

Originally conceived as part of Crowley’s larger Book 4, this work presents his principles of magic in a more focused and systematic form. It is historically important for shaping modern understandings of magical theory by defining magic as the art and science of causing change in accordance with will. Inside are discussions of intention, symbolism, ritual structure, and the philosophical basis of Thelemic practice.

Aleister Crowley (1875–1947) was an English occultist, ceremonial magician, poet, and religious innovator who founded Thelema, a modern esoteric system centered on will, ritual, and spiritual liberation. His many books, including Liber AL vel Legis and Magick in Theory and Practice, made him one of the most influential figures in twentieth-century occult literature.
