Harmonies of the World

Johannes Kepler’s "Harmonies of the World" is a foundational early modern work in which astronomical observation, mathematical proportion, and cosmic harmony are brought together. Although famous for its scientific content, it also reflects a cosmological vision in which the heavens express numerical and musical order; readers will encounter Kepler’s theories of planetary motion, harmonic ratios, and philosophical reflections on the structure of the universe.

Johannes Kepler (1571–1630) was a German astronomer and mathematician whose writings also engaged deeply with cosmic harmony, number symbolism, and the philosophical dimensions of nature. His works, especially the Mysterium Cosmographicum and Harmonices Mundi, were influential in early modern natural philosophy and were later read within esoteric traditions for their speculative cosmology.
