Anecdota Atheniensia

Armand Delatte’s "Anecdota Atheniensia" is a scholarly collection of previously unpublished Greek texts, many of them drawn from magical, astrological, and ritual traditions preserved in manuscript form. Historically important for the study of late antique and medieval Mediterranean occultism, it gives readers access to rare source material rather than a practical grimoire, including fragments, formulae, and notes that illuminate how such knowledge was transmitted and studied.

Armand Delatte (1886–1964) was a Belgian classical philologist whose scholarship made important contributions to the study of Greek religion, magic, and occult texts. He edited and analyzed papyri and related sources that illuminated ancient ritual, divination, and magical practice.
