Swami Abhedananda (1866–1939) was an Indian monk, disciple of Ramakrishna, and an important popularizer of Vedanta in India and the West. His books and lectures on yoga, reincarnation, soul culture, and comparative religion made him a significant modern interpreter of Hindu philosophical and mystical thought.
