Roger Bacon (attrib.)

Texts attributed to Roger Bacon, the 13th-century English philosopher and Franciscan friar, became important in later occult and magical traditions, especially in alchemical, astrological, and experimental writings circulated under his name. Although many such works are pseudepigraphic, the Bacon attribution helped confer authority on a substantial body of esoteric literature.
