Nyanatiloka Mahathera (1864–1957) was a German-born Buddhist monk and scholar who became one of the early Western interpreters of Theravāda Buddhism. He is best known for translations and expositions of Pali Buddhist texts that helped introduce Buddhist doctrine and meditation to European readers.
