Moses Maimonides (1138–1204) was a major Jewish philosopher, legal scholar, and physician whose works profoundly influenced medieval religious and philosophical thought. Though not an occult writer in the modern sense, his Guide for the Perplexed became central to later Jewish philosophical, mystical, and esoteric interpretation.
