Moses Gaster (1856–1939) was a Romanian-born rabbi, scholar, and folklorist whose translations and studies made an important contribution to Jewish and comparative religious literature. He is especially noted for his work on folklore, apocryphal traditions, and mystical or legendary materials, often preserving texts of significance to esoteric scholarship.
