Judah Halevi (c. 1075–1141) was a major Hebrew poet and philosopher of medieval Spain, best known for the philosophical dialogue *The Kuzari*, which defends Judaism through a critique of philosophy and an account of revelation and religious experience. His writings became influential in Jewish religious, mystical, and philosophical thought.
