Joannes Philippus Roothaan

Joannes Philippus Roothaan (1785–1853) was a Jesuit superior general whose influence lay primarily in Catholic religious life and education. He is not chiefly known as an esoteric writer, though his leadership shaped Jesuit intellectual and spiritual culture in the nineteenth century.
