George Ripley (1802–1880) was an American Transcendentalist writer, critic, and reformer whose philosophical and religious essays contributed to the intellectual context of 19th-century spirituality. As editor of the *Harbinger* and a prominent Transcendentalist, he helped disseminate ideas about moral inwardness, intuition, and the relation between religion and philosophy.
