Sir Ernest Alfred Thompson Wallis Budge (1857–1934) was a British Egyptologist, museum curator, and prolific translator of ancient texts. His editions and translations of Egyptian and Near Eastern religious literature, including the *Book of the Dead*, made a major contribution to the modern reception of ancient esoteric and funerary traditions.
